So, some of you may know I’m from Australia. I’m sure many of you have heard of the fires that have been happening. These fires have caused some weird things to happen recently, I thought I might share. So, the fires have gotten so extreme that on some days, the sky goes red, and the whole day it is dark. One time the smoke caused the rain to be like mist. Picture a smoke machine, but the smoke, is instead tiny water particles floating around. These fires create their own weather systems, and this has caused much of the country to have very stormy weather. Yesterday evening a dust storm was brewing. This has happened before, the sky goes a bit foggy. Today however, it was much more extreme. The dust storm was so violent, we had red dust on every surface exposed to the outdoors. Here are some photo’s of where I live, keep in mind, the desert that this dust has come from, is more than 1000km (about 650 miles) away from us. These dust storms are a normal occurrence, but because if the stormy weather that the smoke from the fires cause, the dust gets taken out of the sky, and creates a staining mud. These photos were taken after rain washed away much of the dust. Pools have been a no go zone, as they have been contaminated, rivers have gone a bright orange, and almost every surface has leftover residue from the dust. Below is my dogs water bowl, it was left near undrinkable, even toilet water has gone red. I don’t mean to be one of the save the turtle people, just thought it might be interesting. ![](//storage.proboards.com/7107931/thumbnailer/PencoopCuUMsqgOnl0Oy.png) ![](//storage.proboards.com/7107931/thumbnailer/ZjfrLPgQQsnQJPepqoNV.png) ![](//storage.proboards.com/7107931/thumbnailer/QfMTCPbngSfJVcQhFPRS.png)

So tragic what’s been happening, hope you, your family and loved ones are all safe! Hope animals find more safe places also. Thanks, appreciate that. My family and friends are all pretty safe, and far from the bulk of the fires at the moment. I do feel for many of the more rural areas though. These fires have caused some ridiculous occurrences, and some very terrible things, but hey, so far the conditions are improving
